Tezpur is in all earnest the cultural capital of the Assam. The city abounds in the vast and the at the same time glorious history that binds this tradition. In literal translation the name Tezpur refers to the land of Blood and that too the battle for eternal love that was fought with the Gods Hari and Hara. Rooted in History and Mythology dating back to the early times there are many religious locations of significance which tourist can visit while on their stay in Tezpur. Like the ruins of the Bamuni hills and the Da Parbita that dates back to the early 4 century. The temples that tourist can visit while on their sojourn include the Bhairabi temple dedicated to the Goddess Durga. The Maha Bhairabi temple, The Rudrapada temple and the Nag Shankar temple are the other temples that people can visit. The scenic hillock of Agnigarh is the most scenic sightseeing spot in Tezpur.  The entire region is better known for the stunning scenic and the tea estate hills that are a stunning feature of the same.

The weather in Tezpur is also humid in time of summer and does face incessant rainfall. The month of May experience peak temperatures and the subsequent months experience the Monsoon downpour hence the best time to visit Tezpur is all through the year however the monsoon need be avoided. The reason for this is incessant rainfall and inclement weather. Visitors and tourists flock in to Tezpur but as such there are no instances of over booking and not finding accommodations that suit the traveler. Economy and comfort accommodation are available in the city and they are also affordable.

In terms of travel the town has a well designed internal transportation system and is well connected through roads and railways as well as flight services.

Tezpur tourism offers tourists an opportunity to experience the vast and often unspoken culture of the north eastern terrain. Apart from that it also extends to the traveler relaxation and rejuvenation and a stopover before returning to hectic life on the fast lane.
