Gole Dak Khana

Gole Dak Khana which means round post office, was formerly known as Alexandra Place. It was the office of the Central Public Works Department till the 1960s. Plans to convert this roundabout into a garden have never materialized. However, this remains the only post office in Delhi where, thanks to its being located in the centre of a traffic intersection, you have the excitement of dodging traffic in order to post a letter.
