Hospitals and Medicine Stores

India has some superb hospitals such as the Christian Medical College Hospital in Vellore (Tamil Nadu), the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi.

Unfortunately, most smaller towns in India do not have modern medical care. Hospitals run by government are over crowded and it is better to head for the private nursing homes in case of any emergency.
India also has several qualified doctors running their own private clinics that are excellent in their service and competency. Doctors also take home calls, although the charge is a little higher than a visit to the clinic. Medicine stores are available throughout the country retailing all kinds of medicines.
