Ladakh is known by different names and as such is known by names like ‘Little Tibet’, the ‘last Shangri-La’ and over the years has gained more and more preference as a tourist destination. This Hill destination has been known vividly for its scenic beauty and picturesque white capped hills and mountains that are a retinal treat but also offers the fullness of nature. At a spectacular altitude of 2750 meters above sea level the beauty of Ladakh is better seen than written. Ladakh offers tourist with a number of destinations that are graced with nature and with religious places of worship. These include Pandum, Stongdey, Zangala and Sani. The weather in Ladakh remains cold and chilly for most part of the year and the best time to visit Ladakh is from June to September. Despite of incessant snowfall and inclement weather, Ladakh is opened only for the months of June to September and as such in other months the valley remains closed.
Ladakh is surrounded by the might Himalayan Mountain ranges and as such there is wide choice of accommodations in and around. Accommodations in Ladakh offers the tourist both economy and luxury accommodations.
Ladakh is connected to Srinagar and Jammu by road. There are two roads that conncet to Ladakh. Srinagar to Ladakh by Zoji La Pass and Manali to Ladakh by Rohtang Pass. Zoji La Pass opens between June and October. Rohtang Pass opens between July and September.
Ladakh offers tourist the opportunity to spend their hard earned holidays in the midst of nature and its fullness. Though the region may have a strong and harsh impending Façade the tranquility and spirit of the region is not dimensioning and as such promises the tourists with the best and memorable holiday experience.
