Kamadgiri Temple
Kamadgiri, the temple of wish
fulfilment, is the main attraction of Chitrakoot. Situated on the bank
of the river Mandakini, the temple is set amidst the beautiful Vindhya
Hills.
The main entrance displays statues of lions and elephants on either
side of Goddess Lakshmi, worshipped mainly for Wealth and Prosperity.
The central hall of this Goddess temple is dedicated to Lord Rama,
flanked by idols of his wife Sita and Lakshmana, his dedicated brother
who accompanied him in exile. The idols are worshipped with flowers,
incense, coconuts and red cloth that are readily available within the
precincts of the temple.
