¤ Society & Conduct
Indore, as the heartland of India, is a good place to practise all
the dos and donts you should keep in mind before venturing into
the country. Read up our guide in the section Religious and Social
Etiquette under the India head.
Since Indore is a pretty conservative city, women should try not to
roam around in shorts or mini skirts. (Save all those for metros like
Bombay, Bangalore or Delhi.) Do remember that for all its calm and
order, MP witnesses maximum crime against women in India, so its
better to dress modestly.
The people of Madhya Pradesh are very particular about their
womenfolk. Dont stare at the women or approach them, even if it
is to ask for directions, and never click pictures of them without
prior permission. Move away from bathing or washing ghats if your
presence is objected to. |
