¤ Transport
Inter-city
Bus : You can catch a local buses from Bhopal to Sanchi which
have a frequency of about one every hour, from dawn to dusk. There are
two possible routes. The longer route goes via Raisen (3 hours; 68km).
The shorter following the railway line to Bhopal takes about 2 hours
and costs much less. Buses depart to Vidisha from the Sanchi bus stand
about every 30mins and cost around Rs 5. You can also auto-rickshaw it
to Vidisha its very reasonable, after bargaining.
Rail : Sanchi is on the main Delhi to Mumbai railway line.
Slow passenger trains can take over two hours to get to Bhopal, but
you dont have to take those as there are two express trains each
day. The expresses depart Bhopal at 0800 and 1340 and depart Sanchi at
1600 and 1800, so its comfortably possible to visit Sanchi in a
day trip.

Intra-city
Everything in Sanchi is within easy walking distance. For excursions
to places nearby like Vidisha (10km) and the Udaigiri caves (14km),
you can rent bikes in Sanchi.
