  • Muttam- Muttam beach is situated 40 km North West of Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari consists of five such exotics beaches.


  • Thengapattinam beach - This beach is located on the west coast of Painkulam village. This beach is surrounded with canopies of coconut groves. The area around the beach served as a major trading center during the medival times. The non salty water from the Thamirapararani River flows through this beach. One can enjoy a boat ride through the backwaters.


  • Shotharilal beach- this is one of the most beautiful natural beaches in district which is 10 km away from Kanyakumari. The distinctive peculiarity of the beach is the shallow waters and the various sand dunes. Overs the years there has been considerable developments made to the beach.


  • Thekkurichiri beach- this is a small village in the western costal area. This is a relative calm and at the same time serene beach that is surrounded with a bounty of casuarinas

  • Kanyakumari Temple- The famed Kanyakumari temple near the seashore is one of the most beautiful attractions near Kanyakumari beaches. Dedicated to Kumari Amman this is one of the most revered and at the same time sacrosanct places of worship. The nose ring on the idol of the diety is said to emit a majestic light.

  • Vivekananda Rock Memorial - The great Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda is built on Small Island that is 200 meters from shore. The actual memorial stands on a turn rock. There is also a meditation hall in the memorial where tourist can freely meditate and spend some time in contemplation. Boats facilities are also available for tourists.
