Safari in Corbett

Jim Corbett is one of the major national park of India. The park was set up in 1936 and was initially named Hailey National Park. It is 201 sq kms park and houses exotic flora and fauna. The park is a famous Tiger reserve and is a paradise for bird watchers as it houses 580 different species of birds. The park was designated a Project Tiger Reserve in 1973. We would provide a representative who would keep you inform and would help you on your Jim Corbett tour. He would be well versed in English and make arrangement for your safaris as well. » Day 01 : Delhi Corbett National Park

We would land on Delhi International Airport in New Delhi. From Delhi International Airport, IGI, we would directly leave for Corbett National Park. We would arrange a good wildlife resort for you in Corbett or would book the one which you would like us to. The national park is 263 kms NE from Delhi and would take 5 hrs - 6 hrs to reach from New Delhi.

Just for your information, we would like to inform you that Corbett National Park is one of the popular national park in India and one of the first to come under Project Tiger Scheme of India. The park is famous for conserving Tigers.

Corbett National Park is situated on the Kosi river. It is a paradise for bird’s lovers and naturalist. Being your first day, we would like you to relax. In the evening, a slide show would be shown which would tell you about the flora and fauna of the Corbett area. Later we would resort back to hotel where our food would be served.

» Day 02 : Corbett National Park

On the second day, we would go for jeep safari in Corbett National Park. Tiger tracking would become the most evident part of trip to Corbett national park. We would choose jeep safari on the first day. The trip would be held in the morning. Amidst the dark green jungles, you would seek for a big wild cat. Don’t forget to take binoculars along with you through which you would be able to see to some fascinating animals like Kingfishers, Pallas & Himalayan Greyheaded Fishing Eagles, Osprey, Crested Serpent Eagle. Travelling with a Jeep safari offers a good way to see Tiger and you can cover much wider area in a limited time. The guide provided to you would be well versed in in listening for warning cries and the habits of the animals.

Later we would arrive at Dhilkala which surrounds itself with abundant wildlife. An eleaphant ride would provide you an oppurtunity to get close to Himalayan wildlife. From Dhilkala, we would take elephant ride which would give us good oppurtunity to glimpse the nature. We would take a jeep lodge for a overnight stay. We would take a jeep ride back to lodge for an overnight stay.

» Day 03 : Corbett National Park

Again next morning we would take Jeep Safari in the Gharial area. This is an awesome wilder area of Corbett National Park. We would take jeep drive to start off point of Elephant Safari. This safari is best of its kind. On route, you would visit Kanda which is situated at an elevation of 1,020. This was the famous point where Jim Corbett shot Kanda Man eater. Post lunch our Elephant safari would start. It would be an experience in itself and even though seeing a tiger from the elephant back would be less tiring.

You would simply feel much closer to the forests as you would sway along. As a leisure activity, you can choose fishing which is allowed in the Ram Ganga, Kosi Mandal and Kotri rivers with a special permits. You could actually hire a rod which would cost you around Rs 500 per day per beat. Fishing would be good way to experiment on tour. Resort back to your hotel. Your food would be served on time. Overnight stay in the hotel.

» Day 04 : Corbett National Park

This would be the fourth day in Corbett National Park. We have dedicated the full day for Elephant safari. We have decided that we would have our breakfast on route. After rest we would start the elephant safari for the Sonanadi wildlife sanctuary. Corbett National Park includes Sona Nadi wildlife sanctuary as a reserved area. You would arrive at Halduparao Forest Rest House constructed in 1892 which was broken down by the wild elephants. This forest rest house was later on restored. No doubt Tiger would be the first mammal which you would like to see on your Corbett trail but watching a wild boar would also not be a comprise. Resort back to hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel

» Day 05 : Corbett National Park

This would be your fifth day on Corbett National Park and we would either chose an elephant ride or a Jeep safari for a forest trail. Again we would be visiting the Sonamada Sanctuary Area for wildlife vieing. Post lunch we would take a jeep safari and cover destination like Sendhikhal - Saneh - Morghatti - Kalagarh - Jhirna - Dhela - Ramnagar and resort back to hotel by late evening.

» Day 06 : Corbett National Park - Delhi - Onward Destinati

From Corbett National Park, we would board the cab and would drive towards Delhi. Our representative would drop you either on airport/railway station so that you can further continue your journey.
