Milam Glacier Milam Glacier Trekking Tour makes a idle trek route in Himalayas. The Milam Glacier (3872m) lies at the base of the great Himalayan wall. It is fed by the Nanda Devi on the west, and the Panchchuli and Kalabandar glaciers from the east. This mixed glacier system is the source of the Goriganga River, and offers breathtaking views of an area that abounds in natural beauty.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Breakfast and drive 154km from Pithoragarh (1815m), the district headquarters, to Munsiyari (2290m), a beautiful small town with a magnificent view of the Panchchuli peak. Munsiyari is the roadhead for the trekking tour in Milam glacier. Dinner and overnight stay at the KMVN rest house or hotel in town.

DAY 2: Breakfast and trek 15km, along the Goriganga River, to Lilam (1852m), with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.

DAY 3: Breakfast and trek 12km, with packed lunch, to Bugudiyar (2450m) located at the end of a steep climb. The confluence of the Goriganga and the Ralam rivers is situated in the midst of a thick forest. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.

DAY 4: Breakfast and trekking 12km, with packed lunch, to Rilkot (3200m). The ruins of the old Rilkot village above the river are worth a visit. Dinner and overnight stay in tent on the Goriganga River Beach.

DAY 5: Breakfast and trekking 15km, with packed lunch, to Milam village (3434m). For an enchanting view of the Martoli peak, just take a short walk from Rilkot. After crossing a bridge at a place called Burfu, the route runs along the left bank of the Goriganga River and offers fascinating views of the Nanda Devi peak and the Har Deval peak. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.

DAY 6: Breakfast and trek 8km, with packed lunch, to Milam Glacier (3872m). Return the same day to Milam village. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.

DAY 7: Breakfast and trek back to Rilkot, with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.

DAY 8: Breakfast and trek, with packed lunch, to Bugudiar. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.

DAY 9: Breakfast and trek, with packed lunch, to Lilam. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.

DAY 10: Breakfast and trek, with packed lunch, to Munsiyari. Dinner and overnight stay at KMVN rest house or hotel.

DAY 11: Breakfast and drive to Pithoragarh. Dinner and overnight stay at the KMVN rest house.
