Exide Industries is the biggest storage battery producing company in India. The Company was incorporated as Associated Battery Makers (Eastern) Ltd., on 31st January, 1947. It is one of the largest power storage companies in the whole of the south-east Asian region. It is also a manufacturer of automotive lead-acid batteries. The company has plants in India and Sri Lanka to manufacture these products. The Company manufactures the widest range of storage batteries in the world from 2.5 Ah to 20,400 Ah capacities. The company has a total of 6 plants in India; all of these are spread across the whole country.
