One of the most popular musuems in Ahmedabad, The Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, near Gujarat University, houses fine stone, marble and wood carvings from around India, as well as local bronzes, cloth paintings and coins. Among the sculptures is a sandstone carving from Madhya Pradesh dating from the 6th century AD, the oldest-known carved image of the god Rama. It attracts a lot of visitors daily and the entry is free in this musuem. The musuem is closed on Mondays and on rest of the days it is opened between 11:30am to 5pm.
