•Snippet- Bombay Talkies is perfect ode to Indian cinema expressing the creativity of four  good directors.

This film is an ode to Indian cinema summing up what one expects in a good film. This is not a tribute as a simple cinematic format  tribute is inadequate to sum up Indian cinema. The format of the film needs to be commended. This film has been perfectly used as a platform for showcasing creativity. So dismiss the fact that these are  art films, each film in the anthology certainly bears the distinctive mark of the  gifted director.

Karan Johar presents the story of tumultuous relationship that is confronted with an unusual triangle. Johar does it with maturity and finesse of a film maker. Dibakar Banerjee tells the story of failed actor (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who finds its hard to make ends meet with his bed ridden daughter Emu. A film that is sure to touch you in terms of strong emotions and also leave you confused. Zoya Akhtar presents the story of cross dressing boy who idolizes Katrina Kaif. Finally Anurag Kashyap presents a tale often been told of a commoner travelling from the village to the city on his father’s behest to meet the superstar of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan. This short film offers the most dramatic of endings.

The format of the film is worth all the praise, the sequences have been seamlessly stitched together in the swiftest manner and that too eliminating lethargy. Moreover it experiments with the concept of new age cinema that is sure to be part of Hindi cinema for  time to come.
