Ajay Devgn epitomizes  hardwork and dedication. There was a time in his career when his films weren’t doing well and there was uncertainty looming over his future. However he made a strong statement with a string of successful films proving that at times acting talent decides the true fate of actor and not his lapses at the box office. A two time national award winner Devgn continues to offer audience his best performance enthralling in slapstick comedy and serious action films.
 
Ajay Devgn Early Life- Ajay Devgn was born Vishal Devgn on 02nd April, 1969 to Veeru and Veena Devgan. His father was stunt choreographer and his mother was producer. He attended the prestigious Silver Beach School at Juhu and then attended Mithibhai College. Surrounded by individuals engaged in the film industry it was no surprise that Ajay Devgan made the cut into films and acting. He struggled in his initial days for his breakthrough role but the determination with which he approached his characters proved his zeal to be a versatile actor.
 
Ajay Devgan Film Career- He made his debut with the film Phool Aur Kaante in 1991 and received his Filmfare Award for best Debut male actor. He then starred in films that did not do that well at the box office but he was appreciated for his performances, Jigar (1992), Dilwale (1994), Suhaag (1994), Naajayaz (1995), and Diljale (1996). He starred significantly in negative roles and as a supporting actor as well. His film with Aamir Khan, Ishq (1997) which was a romcomedy was particularly appreciated by audiences. He starred in films but moreover than personal performances his film was reviewed for the business it did .This was also the time when it seemed that he would be completely faced out. The actor received his first National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Mahesh Bhatt's drama Zakhm. Some of his later films of the decade are Pyaar to Hona Hi Tha, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Kachche Dhaage did considerably well at the box office. In the early 2000s, he starred in Lajja (2001) and Company (2002).
 
In 2003, he won his second National Film Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Bhagat Singh in Rajkumar Santoshi's biopic The Legend of Bhagat Singh. This was the phase when the actor actually reinvented himself with his roles. From then onward the actor went to star in many commercial and critically acclaimed movies like Raincoat and Yuva (2004), Omkara (2006), the famed Golmaal Series of films Golmaal Fun Unlimited (2006), Golmaal returns (2008) and Golmaal 3 (2010). Apart from that his ventures as producer with  All the best (2009) did well. The other movies that stamped out his completeness as an actor include Once Upon a Time in Mumbai (2009) and Singham (2011). The actor also has his production house Ajay Devgn Ffilms. It is not a spelling mistake but the actor is extremely superstitious. On the advice of his family he changed his name to Devgn and his banner has an extra f in films.

Ajay Devgan Personal life- Ajay Devgn married Kajol on 24th February, 1999. The couples have two children Nysa and Yug. The couple chose to store the umbilical cord and blood sample of their son Yug. Thus making a significant contribution to the cause of stem cell donation in India.  They in turn became the first celebrity couple to endorse the same for the cause of children suffering from severe ailments.

The actor is a shopaholic and has a vast collection of accessories that include watches and designer shoes. The actor’s craze for cars is also well known. Presently the actor owns a 2010 BMW Z4, Audi Q7, Mercedes S Class, Range Rover Vogue, and Toyota Celica. Apart from that Devgn is also the first Bollywood actor to own a private jet which he uses for travelling to his sets, promotion of films and also for his personal trips.

The actor was linked up with his co actresses Eesha Deol and then Kangana Ranaut. He is also known for the cold vibes he shared with his spouse best friend Shah Rukh Khan. On a personal front the actor was unhappy with his director Prakash Jha in the movie Rajneeti where Ranbir Kapoor was given more prominence than the actor.
