Jackie Shroff Early life- Jackie Shroff was born on the 1st February 1957 to Kakubhai & Rita Shroff. Jackie Shroff lived with his parents in the Teen Batti area at Walkeshwar, Mumbai. Before his film career Jaikishen was a local baddie and modeled in a few advertisements. This experience a characteristic earned him first role in main stream role in Subhash Ghai Hero.
Jackie Shroff Film Career- Jackie Shroff made his Bollywood Debut with the movie Swami Dada (1983) which was directed by Dev Anand. However the film Hero launched Jackie as a main stream actor in Bollywood. The success and the critical appreciation he received for this film is boundless, so much so that he is fondly remembered even today as Jackie Dada. Jackie Shroff started with actor Anil Kapoor in many hit movies that include as Yudh, Andar Baahar, Karma, Ram Lakkhan, Parinda, 1942 A Love Story etc. At one point in time in the 1980 and towards the 1990’s Jackie Shroff established himself as one of best in terms of his contemporaries.
The year 1985-86 was not that good for the actor. As such the actor consolidated himself with performance 1987 Mahesh Bhatt film Kaash alongside Dimple Kapadia. Another feature if the actor is that during his 30 long year career in the film industry many of his business decisions that he made were influenced by friends and those close him and many at time restrained from being through professional. This has been the reason that the contemporaries and those who entered the film industry after him is much higher than where he is actually today. But one thing stands out that the popularity and the affection that the audience lavishes on the actor is equivalent to any superstar in the film industry.
The actor continues to work in movies but has focused more on distinctive character roles and performances. His best films to date include Shroff restated solid performances Parinda (1989), Angaar (1992), Gardish (1993), Aaina (1993), Border (1997), Lajja (2001) and Devdas (2002) to name a few.
