He was selection as president came as a surprise and was a sign of change that the party was willingly to embrace. A man with exceptional leadership characteristics and ability to connect with the commoner which was a result of the problems and the struggles he faced during the early years of his time. Nitin Gadkari‘s meteoric rise from a humble grass root party men to shouldering the mantle of the BJP is certainly one that exudes inspiration and admiration.

Nitin Gadkari Early Life- He was born to humble middle Brahmin family in Nagpur.  His early was subject to abject poverty and years of struggle where had to earn for his family and sustain his studies.  During his teens itself he served as member of the Bharitya Janta Yuva Morcha and a member of the ABVP. The struggle strengthened the individual in him and he completed his Bachelors of Law degree from the Nagpur University.

Nitin Gadkari political Career- At the age of 32 she successful contested from the Nagpur constituency in Maharashtra and became a member of the Legislative Council. He repeated this by being elected in 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008 and most notably in 2008 he was elected unopposed.  At an early age itself he also shouldred the mantle of General Secretary for the state of Maharashtra.  His stinct as party general secretary ushered in a constructed change in the party and bought in organizational prowess that was hitherto missing in the party’s functions in the state.  The Party’s massive victory at the Nagpur Municipal Polls was a testament of the same. 

He infused a result oriented approach in the BJP’s efforts. He also played the role of a responsible leader of opposition in the MLC and was known for his out of box comments and the empathy he shared with the farmers of the land. However his stinct as Public Welfare Department Minister was noteworthy. In his tenure in office he swiftly completed almost 55 flyover bridge projects and the mega projects like Mumbai- Pune Express highway. He made an impact with his stinct in office.  He is also noted for his contributions as to the cause of road connectivity in Maharashtra. However his career was haunted by the case of  Seven -year - old Yogita was found dead in a car parked outside Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Gadkari’s house in the Mahal area on May 19, 2009.

While her parents alleged that she was murdered and sexually assaulted. There have been allegations of massive cover-up due to the political influence of Nitin Gadkari. However the court commented the girl died as a result of suffocation and was stuck in the car as a result  of faulty locking system.  Nitin Gadkari due to creditionals and immense prowess and also his ability leader and administrator he was elected  as the BJP Chairperson and assumed office on the 25th December, 2009.

Nitin Gadkari Business Career- Nitin Gadkari stated that he is not a politician and is an agriculturist and a businessman. The national President owns the Purti Group with presence across many industries.  He is also known to control the following business enterprises in the following  post

He is also an agriculturalist has also shown keen interest in water management and solar projects.  He has also promoted the use of modern tools in agriculture and also has fruit exporting firm Ketaki overseas trading company.

Nitin Gadkari Personal Life- Nitin Gadkari is married to Kanchan Gadkari and they have three children; Nikhil, Sarang and Ketki. He currently lives in Nagpur close to the head office of Ashtray Swayamsevak Sangh. On 24 June 2012, Sarang Gadkari married Madhura Rod. His other interest apart from politics is sports and he is an avid cricket fan. He is also a firm believer in the concepts of Antodaya. The concepts of Antodaya deal with integreal humanism and trusteeship. It was under his leadership that Maharashtra BJP contributed in the Annadata Sukhi Bhava Yojana of a Voluntary Organization and reached out to the widows of those farmers who have committed suicides.

Nitin Gadkari Controversies- The most difficult controversy that the BJP president had to encounter was the allegation of the Yogita a girl who found in a car outside his official residence. The girl was said to be sexually assaulted and then murdered. However a court ruling stated that  Yogita died of suffocation and died as a result of an accident.  India Against Corruption and alleged that party president  was gaining popularity due to his populist measures that were simply put together and had no real impact on the lives of the concerned.

His efforts only contributed in securing commercial returns. Most recently in in September 2012, Anjali Damania, an IAC activist, claimed that she has personally met Mr. Gadkari and requested his help for exposing the alleged INR 70000 crore Irrigation scam in Maharashtra. She claimed that Gadkari out-rightly rejected to help her citing that he had business interests with Sharad Pawar and that both the leaders mutually help each other to reach their personal financial goals and ambitions. He was also in the news for the alleged link with Ajay Sancheti, CEO of SMS infrastructure limited.

Nitin Gadkari Assets  and Net worth/ Latest  News - In the latest statement made to the media  and  dismissing reports and allegation by the India against Corruption the  Party president said that his complete worth is estimated at Rs 8 crore.  He also concluded that this amount has stayed the same for the past four years and there had no been change in the same.  He also further classified that contrary to other reports of him holding  more than 15 companies in (several) sectors, including construction, sugar, distillery, power, coal, agro, etc. According to the list most of the companies mentioned were either defunct and there was also companies where the party president had a dormant share.
