EARLY LIFE- Virat Kohli was born to Prem and Saroj Kohli in New Delhi on the 5th November,1988. He has two siblings firstly his elder sister Bhavna and elder brother VIshak. The cricketer attended Vishal Bharati and Savier Convent School. The 2011 Cricket World cup provided the vital break through for Kohli who scored a 100 on debut. Between the crucial months of his metamorphosis as a batsman Kohli averaged at an average of 48 and was the second highest scorer. Virat Kohli also replicated the same and also the faith that selector kept faith but he was done in by short pitched bowling in his first series.

However the real start to his test career was in Australia where he scored a brilliant 116 and was India scorer in as series where experienced players failed to make and impact with their batting.  In this series he also scored brilliant hundred against Sri Lanka that kept the teams hopes alive of a semifinal berth. In this time he became the fastest cricketer to score a total of 8 one day centuries in the shorter span of time.

CRITICISM AND CONTROVERSY- The cricketer faced his worst criticism for his approach to short pitching bowling as a result of which he played rather poorly in his first test series. He was named for pointing out an indecent gesture to the crowd who were booing ion the second test against Australia.
