Byculla zoo

Byculla zoo was eastablished in the year 1861 and is formerly known as Rani Bagh or Jijamata Udyaan. It is located in Byculla and is the oldest zoo in India. It is spread over 48 acres. The zoo also provide good facilities to its visitors like good parking area for visitors, clean washrooms and there is also cafe for refreshment.

 

Timings

Regular days timings is from  09:00 AM To 05:30 PM. The zoo is closed on Wednesday.

 

Entry Fees

Rs. 5 for Adults, Rs. 2 for Children

 

Attractions

The zoo has multiple attractions like double-beaked hornbills, pelicans, egrets, Japanese storks. The best attraction for kids is the teasing monkey and   singing birds. There are big giant elephants which also attracts the visitors alot. Then comes the large crocodile pond where the crocodiles hanging around the pit. There is the lioness named Jimmy. You can also see two pink hippopotamus and a rhino in the pond.
