Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park

Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park is situated in Katraj. It was opened on 14 March 1999 and is managed by  Pune Municipal Corporation. The park is 8 kilometers from Pune. It is spread  over 130 acres of lush greenery and it is divided into 3parts which includes the animal orphanage, a snake park, and a zoo. It also has a 42acre Katraj lake. The zoo provides battery operated vehicle which is available for the visitors on rent.
 

The zoo timings are divided according to months like from 1st April to 15th June :- 9.30 am TO 6.00 pm
16th June to 31st March :- 9.30 am TO 5.00 pm

Rs. 10 for adults, Rs. 5 for children

Rs.25 for Foreigners
 

The famous attraction is the white tigers and a male tiger named 'Tanaji'. The zoo has very attractive mammals like  leopard, sloth bears, sambhars, barking deer,  peafowl. And some famous reptiles includes  indian rock python, cobra, snakes, viper. Another best attraction is the snake park in the zoo which has a nine foot cobra. People also enjoy boating alot in the Katraj lake.
