Kamakhya temple
Situated on the Nilachal hill at an altitude of 800 feet above sea level more than a temple the complex houses a number of temples that are dedicated to various deity. The main temple is dedicated to the Kali Devi temple, Bagala, Chinnamasta, Bhuvanesvari, Bhairavi and Dhumavati. These deities are all forms and contemplations of the Devi, the mother of Creation. Apart from that there are also five temples dedicated to the Lord Shiva and three temples dedicated to the Lord Krishna.
The temple complex exudes an ambience of peace and devotional fervor and as such is devotees and visitors feel completely at ease and have a celestial feeling. The services in the temple begin early in the morning and the evening preparations and services are completely by early evening with the Sandhya Puja.
