Agnigarh

This tourist destination remains as the poster picture of the city of Tezpur. This place has deep historical roots and as such is the most revered and visited places. The name Agnigarh is derived from the popular belief of the locals that the place where King Bana Kept his daughter Usha. For the protection of the princess a firewall was secured around that of the place and hence it is called Agnigarh or the House surrounded by fire.

From the top of Agnigarh Tourists can have a glimpse of the Brahmaputra Rivers as it flows. The entrance to the place is adorned with clay pillars that look fresh and at the same time is also has two guards that lead all the way this wonderful and quaint location.
