Kufri
Located 16 kms from the city of Shimla, Kufri is known for its quaint is known for its skiing slopes and panoramic view of the entire scenic beauty of Shimla. The dense forests of the Kufri mountains are also known for the dense forests which have a wide variety of trees and also rare species of plant and animals. The Added attraction of Kufri is the mini zoo in the dense forests sprawling around 20 acres of land and has flora and plants that are similar to those found in the Himalayan region.
The zoo is also known for the wild animals that include 140 wild animals of these the important species include Tibetan wolf, brown bear and barking deer. There are other popular wild animals’ species in the Mini zoo such as leopard, Ghoral, Samber, Himalayan Thar, Yak, black bear and number of pheasant’s varieties. Himalayan Nature in Kufri is also an important zoo spread over 90 hectares of land.
