Madikeri- Formerly called Mercara this place served as the erstwhile capital of Coorg. This place served as the summer place of the British presidency for the officers in the Madras Province. The reason being that the weather in the summers was really hot and a trip to the hills provided a respite from the heat. Hence this place came to called as the Scotland of India. Madikeri enchants the travelers with quaint and breathtaking natural beauty. The region is also known for the various plantations on the lush green landscape that include coffee and cardamom.  The cardamom crop is one of the most important plantations of the region and is also the existent world record holder ion terms of the production of Cardamom.

Kakkabe- This is also an important tourist destination in the hill station of Coorg. The place has also known as the largest producer of honey in the region. Apart from the panoramic and awe inspiring scenic beauty that adorns this place Kakkabe is also known for the historic and important Padi Igutappa temple. This is one of the lushest green and charming locations. The vicinity of the temple is covered with carpets of green grass. The temple is also known for the pouthari Festival that is celebrated with earnest devotion and in festival pomp.  The region was also at one point in time famous as a hunting destination. The place is filled with old Hunting villas and estates that were used by the British masters. The Naland Palace is also known as  a perfect place for kiddies park and camp where children can have a fun time out while stay.  The honey farms of Kakkabe are also a perfect place to visit. Here tourist can understand the various stage involved in the processing and the distribution of honey, which is educational but a fun outing experience for the entire family.

Omkareshwara Temple- This temple is one of the important places to visit in hill station of Coorg. This temple is dedicated to the deity of the Lord Shiva.  This temple was built by the ruling King of Coorg in 1820, Lingarajendra II and was built fourteen year before ruler were banished from Coorg. There is a legend the temple has been passed down over the years that the temple was built by the king in order to appease the soul of the Brahmin. The temple exhibits distinctive style of both gothic and Muslim Architecture.  Built in te Muhammad style of Architecture the façade of the temple  has a wide circumference dome in the center and has four turrets at four corners.  The temple is also similar to that of the Islamic style. The temple has lingam in the front that was installed by the King. The lingam was brought from the from the north as a protection from the Brahmin‘s soul.  The temple is also known for the pilgrims that visit with religious fervor and also for those who are come from spiritual healing and protection.

Cauvery Nisargadhma- This is a forest resort in Coorg. Over the years the reason has been effectively a tourist’s hotspot. The efforts have been to increase the utility of the place in keeping with the natural surroundings. Hence each and every facet of the resort is distinctive of this thought. Like the hanging bridge that welcomes tourists and the distinctive and special tree top shelters.  The place also has facilities for boating and elephant safaris that can be truly enjoyed by tourists.  The Cauvery Nisargadhma is also known for its distinctive natural habitat that has been well preserved and in no way affecting the natural ecosystem or the ecology.

Abbey Falls- This quaint and tranquil waterfall is situated in the valley between the lush green foliage and the coffee and spice plantation in the region. Several streams join together and vent out into the water is synonymous as a peaceful and calm cascading waterfall. The movements of the waterfall that can be heard crystal clear from as far as the road that leads to the waterfall.  The falls flow is also consistent throughout the year and is at its full flow in the monsoon. The best to visit is during the months of the winter and especially just in the monsoon. The ambience of the place is simply awesome and as such is a perfect place to in tune with nature.

Raja Seat- This known as the place where raja of Coorg spent his evenings and hence the name .The place with filled with a lush green and well manicured gardens. The sunset scene in the Raja Seat is spectacular and awe-inspiring and as such touristy visit the place particular for the sunset experience.

Madikeri Fort- This place occupies an important position in the history of Coorg. The palace built by Muddaraja built in the 17th century. Later on the temple was remade in granite by the leader of the South Tipu Sultan. Today the fort serves as the official residence of the district collector.  The remnants of the old fort are the tortoise formation that remains to this day.  The north East corner of the fort is also known as the entrance that is known for the stone sculptures of two life size elephants. Towards the south east corner there is also Anglican church that has been converted into a museum by the archeological society. The museum houses historical artifacts, along with a section dedicated to Field Marshal Cariappa. Besides museum, this fort also houses a district prison, the Kote Maha Ganapati Temple and the Mahatma Gandhi Public Library.

Talakaveri / Talacauvery- There is a shrine near the kundike and a big tank in front of it where devotees baths before offering prayers. There are 2 temples, a Shiva temple and with a rare and ancient Shiva Linga, and another temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This temple has a holy Ashwantha tree where, according to legend, the Trimurtis - Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh gave darshan to sage Agastya

Bhagamandala- The spot or the convergence point of the three rivers of the Cauvery, Kanika and Sujyoti.the place is also famous for a temple that is situated in the vicinity and is constructed in the Kerala stle of temple construction.  The temple complex has also smaller shrines that are dedicated to the various deities and is frequented by tourists from all over.

Nagarhole National Park- This is one of the most important wildlife sanctuaries in the region.  Also known as te Rajiv Gandhi national park the Nagarhole National park is situated at about 84 kilometers from Mysore and is spread in the districts of Mysore and Coorg.  The places are surrounded by rich forest cover and at the same time an enriched natural ecology that is visible. Tourists and visitors can truly experience the fullness and the tranquility of spend time in the nature and in the wild.

Valanoor- Valanoor, on the back waters of river Cauvery is one of the most beautiful ecologies of Coorg. It is also known as angling sites in Karnataka. Types of fish include Golden-Masheer are available in the region is also known for the  the rich natural ecology.

Coorg is place that is enriched with nature in its finest and immaculate form. Every place in Coorg radiates this beauty and natural effervescence that is simply in explicable. The hill station has kept up to the reputation of  providing a stopover for tourists before heading back to life on the fast lane.
