Ladakh / Rizong monastery and Jelichun Nunnery
Founded as a Gelugapa monastery is also one of the most sacred and at the same sacred shrines in Ladakh. It is believed that the Guru Padmanasabha who mediated and prayed and spend most of his time here in prayer and silent recollection. The Jelichun nunnery serves as a seminary for the training of the brothers and monks. The nunnery follows strict rules and regulation and as such accustomed to live in severe austerities and a well disciplined life that is founded on prayer, mediation, and service and in outright temperance.
