Hajan- This is a popular picnic spot in the town of Pahalgham. Located in the Barmulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The region is also perfect place for tourists to spend some time and there are also a number of things to do for instance the tourists can walk, there are also recognized routes for trekking routes as well as pony rides.
Baisaran- This place is located at about 5 km away from Pahalgham and is known for the evergreen and plush verdant surroundings. Baisaran is also known for the meadows that are decked up in carpets of velvet green that are certainly a sight to behold and some time at. The characteristic feature of the meadows is the pine trees and the snow-clad mountains. The feeling and the setting of the ecology are such of European countryside and therefore is a place that cannot be left out while visiting Pahalgham.
Mattan- This village is an important and ineffaceable part of Pahalgham. The village town is known for the Hindu temple that attracts tourists and pilgrims alike. Shikhagarh- This is one of the most important wildlife reserves in Pahalgham. The reserve is known as wide variety of flora and plants that are available and as such enable the finest experience for travelers and tourist. Ponies are available from the market to reach the reserve; however, travelers can also choose to walk to this picnic spot.
Sheshnag Lake- This Lake lies above an elevation of 3,658 meters above sea level and is located at about 27 km form Pahalgham. The peculiar feature of this lake is green and blue waters that remain frozen till the month of June. This is one of the most and quaint and quite locations and is known for the natural ambience that is exudes and offers travelers and tourists. The lake is located as a pathway for the Amaranth Yatra that is a holy pilgrimage that is undertaken ever year by pilgrims.
Panchtarni - The place is the point where five main streams converge of the five streams and this is also known as the last point on the map of the Amaranth Yatra. This ecological point is certainly a marvel and as such tourists exude a heavenly ambience and peace and serenity that are true to itself. Panchtarni is also a perfect place for those who are interested in camping and there are facilities for the same.
Aru Valley- This is a village resort that lies at an elevation of 2,048 feet above sea level. this meadow leads to the famous trek via Lidderwat, extending to Kolahoi Glaciers (36 km) at an altitude of 3,400 m. Travelers visiting Pahalgam can reach this village by travelling on a motor able road or walking along a mountain path.
Tarsar lake- This is a picturesque pristine hill lake located at an elevation of 3962 meters above sea level and is about 32 km from Pahalgham. Travelers willing to visit the lake can travel via Lidderwat, and cross a bridge that is hanging at a height of 243 m above ground level. 24 km away from Tarsar Lake is Sikiwas, which houses beautiful camping sites with flower meadows.
