Hajan- This is a popular picnic spot in the town of Pahalgham. Located in the Barmulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.  This is also one of the most picturesque and peaceful location and abounds in natural beauty and effervescence. The region is also perfect place for tourists to spend some time and there are also a number of things to do for instance the tourists can walk, there are also recognized routes for trekking routes as well as pony rides.

Baisaran- This place is located at about 5 km away from Pahalgham and is known for the evergreen and plush verdant surroundings.  Baisaran is also known for the meadows that are decked up in carpets of velvet green that are certainly a sight to behold and some time at. The characteristic feature of the meadows is the pine trees and the snow-clad mountains.  The feeling and the setting of the ecology are such of European countryside and therefore is a place that cannot be left out while visiting Pahalgham.

Mattan- This village is an important and ineffaceable part of Pahalgham.  The village town is known for the Hindu temple that attracts tourists and pilgrims alike. The temple is famous for its beautiful Shiva Lingam, which is preserved within a beautiful brick structure surrounded by crystal clear water on all sides. Presently, the temple complex is one of the much-guarded areas of Jammu & Kashmir and is thus controlled by paramilitary forces. A special permission is required to enter this temple.

Shikhagarh- This is one of the most important wildlife reserves in Pahalgham. The reserve is known as wide variety of flora and plants that are available and as such enable the finest experience for travelers and tourist. Ponies are available from the market to reach the reserve; however, travelers can also choose to walk to this picnic spot.

Sheshnag Lake- This Lake lies above an elevation of 3,658 meters above sea level and is located at about 27 km form Pahalgham.  The peculiar feature of this lake is green and blue waters that remain frozen till the month of June. This is one of the most and quaint and quite locations and is known for the natural ambience that is exudes and offers travelers and tourists. The lake is located as a pathway for the Amaranth Yatra that is a holy pilgrimage that is undertaken ever year by pilgrims.

Panchtarni - The place is the point where five main streams converge of the five streams and this is also known as the last point on the map of the Amaranth Yatra.  This ecological point is certainly a marvel and as such tourists exude a heavenly ambience and peace and serenity that are true to itself. Panchtarni is also a perfect place for those who are interested in camping and there are facilities for the same.  

Aru Valley- This is a village resort that lies at an elevation of 2,048 feet above sea level. this meadow leads to the famous trek via Lidderwat, extending to Kolahoi Glaciers (36 km) at an altitude of 3,400 m. Travelers visiting Pahalgam can reach this village by travelling on a motor able road or walking along a mountain path.

Tarsar lake- This is a picturesque pristine hill lake located at an elevation of 3962 meters above sea level and is about 32 km from Pahalgham. Travelers willing to visit the lake can travel via Lidderwat, and cross a bridge that is hanging at a height of 243 m above ground level. 24 km away from Tarsar Lake is Sikiwas, which houses beautiful camping sites with flower meadows.

Sun temple- This Sun temple was built by Lalitaditya Muktapadia is one of the most intrinsic  monuments as far as architecture is concerned. The structure and the perceived architectural style offers the understanding of engineering despite the fact that today what remains is just columns and  main arches. The feel of the environment is really peaceful and as such tourists actually feel at ease.  The Sun temple also offers a bird’s eye view of the entire surrounding region. From any point in the temple one can catch of glimpse of the beautiful and the magnificent village of Mattan that is spread over the region.

Tulian lake- The Tulian Lake is also one of the most serene and picturesque locations in Pahalgham.  The snow covered lake is covered by tall imposing peaks have and offer an aura and a serene ambience.  This lake is also set around the trek routes of Baisaran.

Chandawari- Chandawari is a famous for the snow bridges and  the picturesque and tranquil beauty that surrounds the region. This is also an important stopover in the course of the Amaranth Yatra that is conducted every year by the ministry.  The place is also known for its established trekking routes and is also accessible for motor vehicles.

Beetab valley- The Beetab valley as it is called has filmy connection to it named after the Sunny Deol Beetab which was the first feature film to be extensively shot in the region and as such the valley was christened as Beetab valley. Surrounded by snow clad mountains and pine and deodar wodded vegetation the valley offers one of the  most picturesque scenes for tourists and a preferred location for filmdom. The valley is again revived as Shah Rukh starter movie became the first movie to shot in al long in the valley. The place is brimming with effervescence and natural beauty that is unparallel and most comparable to that of paradise.

Pahalgham is certainly a place that is bestowed and endowed with natural beauty. A small piece of paradise itself this destination is a perfect stop over for those who wish to spend a holiday in peace and tranquility and are also game for some much needed recreation.
