Ratnagiri / Jaigad fort and Light house
The Jaigad fort is a sea fort located at the tip of the peninsula of the district of Jaigad. The fort is cuddled on a cliff and overlooks the bay and is over the Shastri River. The fort is situated at 35 km from that of Ganapatipule. The fort today is in ruins and as such there is exterior walls and the fragments of the remaining facts bear testimony to the times passed.
The light house is also an important tourists spot and is also a functional today as it was in the year 1832. The lighthouse is open to visiting tourists between 4 to 5 pm on all days of the week except that of Sundays.
