Digha is known as a popular and growing sea resort destination in the state of West Bengal.  Situated in the district of East Midnapur and is often referred to as ‘Brighton of the east’ in the words of the tyrant erstwhile serving Governor general Warren Hastings and is one of the widest beaches in the entire world. Junput- It is an important beach resort in Digha- The casuarinas and the sun kissed beaches are the characteristic feature of the beaches in West Bengal. After independence the beach resort was subject to many changes and as such is a world class facility. Junput is also known as for the growing scientism and research and has many marine and biology centers. The efforts have paid in conserving the natural biological environment and at the same contributed in preserving the beauty and the serenity of the beach.

Shankarpur- Shankarpur is one of the beaches that was discovered in recent times and the twin beaches are now developed with sea resorts and beaches.  Another feature of the beach is that remains untarnished and unspoilt but is enriched with the fullness of nature with the casuarinas groves, the gentle sea and good climatic conditions that prevail all through the year.

Shiv temple- The old temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva is situated at a distance of 8 km from the coats of Digha. This temple is famous and as such is also finds mention in popular Bengali literature.]

New Digha- This is one of the newer sections of the beach city of Digha. It is a suitable holiday destination specially for the white sanded beaches that have a serene ambience and the setup of the city that has been built on the lines of developing the sea face without in any manner causing harm to the natural habitat of the region. New Digha is known for the scientific cultural center and the largest aquarium that is also situated within the city. The science center is particularly known The Centre offers a wide variety of mechanisms to make science an enjoyable learning experience. A fun glass measures individual height. A skeleton gives company for bicycle racing. An Eskimos' Igloo turns out to be a planetarium. Also in the enclave is the Centre's Science Park, which offers entertaining educational opportunities. A park representing the Jurassic Age has also been built at the Centre.
