Tamilnadu Telecommunications (TTL) incorporated in 1988, as joint venture of Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), a PSU fully owned by the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, and Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), under the Government of Tamil Nadu. Fujikura Limited of Japan also joined the company as the third promoter in 1998. TTL embarked upon diversification of its product range, with the manufacture of the state-of-the-art optical fibre cables, in technical collaboration with Fujikura of Japan. They exported different types of cables like Hybrid, Figure-8 Hybrid, Aerial (ADSS-Type) etc to Bangladesh, Jordan, Ethiopia, Myanmar and Kuwait.
