Located on Thevara Ferry Road in Cochin, Kerala Folklore Theatre and Museum welcomes you with a big kalvilakku (stone lamp). As you pass the kalvilakku, you will be greeted by elephant statues on either side of the steps leading to the massive multi-storey traditional building. Kerala Folklore Theatre and Museum has a performance theater called Kalithattu, where folk art performances like string puppet, Kalaripayattu, Thira, Pavakathakali, Darikan Kali and Kaalakali are performed. The museum showcases tribal jewellery, Raja Ravi Verma paintings and more. It is open from 9.30am to 7pm on all days except Sundays and public holidays.
