Kanakeshwar Devasthan Temple

The Kanakeshwar Devasthan temple is one of the prime religious places to vsit for to visit among tourist visting Alibaug. This temple is situated at about 13 km from the town and is known for the temple that is dedicated to the LOrd Shiva.The temple is situated at an elevation of 900 feet and hence it is perfectly daunting task even for devotees who have to actually climb 5000 paved steps to get to the top of the holy shrine.



The complex of the temple comprises of many smaller temples of which the Shiva Temple is the main temple. Behind the temple is situated the Pushkarna khund but devotees to the temple and tourists are restrained form holy dip due to the previous occurances of mishaps.
